Any other work you might want done to your watch - just ask.
If you have been told by other watchmakers or service centers your watch can't be repaired or they don't have/can't get parts. We fix these watches also. Certain parts may not be available any longer such as LCD displays for older digital watches. But if the display still works the watch may just need a cleaning. Most other parts can be found with a little effort and we have repaired watches for people that were told (even by Seiko) their watch is not repairable.
The truth of the matter is these others don't want to repair your watch.
Special Pricing For Your Seiko Kinetic Watch.
NOTICE:
The old style capacitors for Seiko Kinetic watches have been discontinued. Seiko is now supplying a 'Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery' similar to the ones used in the Citizen Eco-Drive watches.
We only install the genuine Seiko Kinetic battery on all Seiko Kinetic watches sent in. Almost all these batteries cost the same. Turn around on Kinetic Tuneups is about 3 - 4 days*.
Reasons Your Seiko Kinetic Watch Won't Hold A Charge:
-
The capacitor is what usually goes bad in these watches. If your Kinetic watch runs and keeps time but then dies (usually overnight), it is most likely that the capacitor is no longer holding a charge.
-
To check the capacitor to see if it is no good, charge the watch ALL the way. It takes a lot of motion approximately 1700-2000 shakes of the wrist to charge the capacitor. Or you can purchase a Seiko Kinetic watch charger and use it to fully charge your watch.
If after fully charging the watch it stops running overnight or within a few minutes or hours, more than likely the capcitor is no good.
If the watch won't run at all after a full charging there might be another problem with the watch. Sometimes the capacitor will leak very badly and it will make a mess in the movement.
-
Older capacitors, especially the first ones, are prone to leaking. In some instances they won't hold a charge after leaking.
-
Some people aren't active enough to keep a Seiko Kinetic watch charged. Remember it takes regular motion throughout the day to charge a kinetic watch fully.
Seiko Kinetic capacitor overhauls starting at $64.95
Included in the overhaul for your Seiko Kinetic watch is:

Capacitor replacement with the fresh new Seiko Lithium Ion Battery.

Please Remember This:
The charge indicator on Seiko Kinetic watches is known to be inaccurate. Seiko Watch Co. recommends charging the watch, then check the charge indicator, then check it again about an hour later for a more accurate reading.
Many people think they are getting a full charge when they really aren't.

When agreeing to the estimate: you agree to pay the estimated price. If more problems or worn parts are found once the work is started we will let you know the extra costs and you can decide if you want to continue. If you decide not to continue you owe Yellowstone Watch, Inc. for the work already completed including any parts already installed or aquired for your watch.
Other Services To Consider While Your Watch Is In For Service:
-
A New Crystal
-
Why not have your crystal replaced if it is badly scratched? A new crystal will make your watch look almost new! It will also insure your watch can withstand the water pressure the watch was designed for.
In most cases a genuine Seiko Watch crystal is available or a nearly scratch-proof sapphire crystal can be installed. Sapphire crystals can chip but are more durable than mineral glass.
-
A New Crown
-
A New Pusher(s)
-
A New Leather or Metal Band
-
Why not have your band replaced if it is badly worn? A new band will make your watch look more like a NEW watch!
-
Genuine Seiko Watch bands are available or you can choose from a large selection of aftermarket bands. Please see our Watch Bands Page for more information.
-
NO estimates of any kind will be given unless We have the opportunity to examine the watch.
The reasons for this are:
#1 There is no way to know exactly what problem is causing the symptoms you are having. Most symptoms have several possible causes.
#2 Some things like a broken crystal can require addtional work like a new gasket and maybe bezel if the bezel has been damaged or new hands if they have been damaged due to the crystal breaking.
#3 Recently a law was passed by the US government that states all companies giving estimates for work have to be within a certain percentage of the final invoice. There are exclusions to this rule but basically there is no way to give an estimate that meets he new law without being able to inspect and determine what the exact cause of the problem is.
* 3-4 day turn around is for certain kinetic watch models as long as we have the parts on hand and the time frame is measured from the time the ok is given on the estimate to when your watch is ready to be shipped back to you. It does NOT include the time from when you shipped your watch! It does NOT include return shipping times. It does NOT include watches requiring us to order parts like crowns or crystals and so on.
***We decline all responsibility for packages mailed to any other address via the US Post Office.
